Indian Kidnapping Gang Busted in Samut Prakan, Three Victims Rescued
Thai police have dismantled an international kidnapping ring after rescuing three Indian men—two held for ransom and a third lured from Suvarnabhumi Airport—from a house in Samut Prakan on Friday. Seven suspects, including six Indian nationals and one Pakistani, now face interrogation.

The operation unfolded after Sanjeev Kumar alerted authorities that his friends, Ramesh Sharma (48) and Anandeep Kajal (27), were abducted from a Silom hotel on April 14 by Deep Sandhu (32), the alleged gang leader. Sandhu later demanded 2.5 million rupees (977,000 baht) from Sharma’s sister via WhatsApp, threatening harm if unpaid.
Police traced the suspects through hotel security footage and a taxi driver’s testimony, leading them to a Samut Prakan hideout. There, they found the two bound captives alongside a third victim, Vipulkumar Patel (41), who had been tricked into the house upon arriving in Thailand.
