Golden Buddha on a Ship – Golden Triangle, Ban Sop Ruak
The Golden Triangle or Sop Ruak is in Chiang Rai Province, Northern Thailand, at the intersection of the three countries: Laos, Myanmar and Thailand.
Situated in Ban Sop Ruak, near the confluence of the Mekong and the Ruak rivers, there is a huge Golden Buddha statue sitting on a ship. This giant golden Buddha stands overlooking the Mekong river.
The Golden Triangle is hilly area also famous for the Phra That Doi Pu Khao temple and the Hall of Opium or Opium museum.
