Inmate shot dead as he tried to escape from rehab centre

An inmate was shot dead by a prison guard as he tried to escape out of the special rehabilitation centre in Bangkok suburb on Friday.

Mr Kobkiat Kasivivat, director-general of Corrections Department, said he received a report of the jailbreak attempt by the director of the rehabilitation centre Friday afternoon.
