Migrant workers’ rights to be protected in the North

CHIANG MAI, 20 December 2016 (NNT) – More than 10 organizations on migrant workers’ rights in the North of Thailand organized a meeting in Chiang Mai to mark the occasion of International Migrants Day on December 18th.

Members of the organizations shared their reports on the current situation concerning migrant workers’ rights. They discovered that many workers in the Northern provinces had been treated poorly by their employers. Some of them did not receive the minimum wage that they deserved while some were forced to work on holidays.
