Fire at Children’s Boarding in Southern Turkey Kills 12

At least 12 people, including 11 minor girls, were killed in a fire in a children’s orphanage in the province of Adana in southern Turkey, local media reported.

ANKARA (Sputnik) — According to Sabah newspaper, the fire occurred on Tuesday, the dead are one worker and 11 girls aged between 10 to 14 years old. Another 22 girls were evacuated from the burning three-story building of the boarding dormitory and were immediately taken to hospital. According to local authorities, those evacuated were either injured by glass fragments or affected by the inhalation of combustion products.
