NCPO scraps tablet policy to focus on other projects

BANGKOK, 16 June 2014 (NNT) – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has resolved to dispose of the One Tablet Per Child policy in order to use the remaining budget on other more worthwhile projects.

Permanent Secretary for Education Sutthasri Wongsaman revealed that she had convened with Deputy NCPO Chief Adm Narong Pipattanasai to conclude on the fate of the controversial tablet policy. After weighing the pros and cons and considering research by related agencies, a unanimous decision was made to cancel the policy entirely as it was not deemed to be worth the investment.
