Buriram and Sakon Nakhon hit by worst drought in decades

BANGKOK, 3 February 2014 (NNT) – The northeastern provinces of Buri Ram and Sakon Nakhon are being plagued by the worst drought in decades and are in urgent need of assistance.

Buriram residents are calling for help from related agencies as their wells have dried up and drinking water is in extremely short supply. The supply of water in some villages might only last for a further week. Many communities say the drought there is the worst in 20 years.
