Landing gear fingered in THAI accident at Suvarnabhumi Airport
BANGKOK, Sept 9 – A Thai Airways International flight from Guangzhou skidded off a runway at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport late last night due to a malfunctioning landing gear, the head of Thailand’s Civil Aviation Department said today.
Voradej Harnprasert said a preliminary investigation found that THAI flight TG679 lost its balance and skidded 400 metres to the right of the Eastern runway. There were sparks near the right landing gear.
