Thai PM Yingluck Shinawatra signs order to revoke ISA enforcement

BANGKOK, Aug 9 – Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra late yesterday signed an order to revoke enforcement of the Internal Security Act (ISA) in three Bangkok districts effective today, one day ahead of the original final day of enforcement tomorrow.

Suranand Vejjajiva, secretary general to the prime minister, said Ms Yingluck signed the order to scrap enforcement of the ISA as proposed by national police chief Adul Saengsingkaew, in his capacity as director of the Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO).
