BANGKOK, 26 August 2013 (NNT) – The Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education (NFE) has unveiled its ASEAN Study Center in Chiang Mai Province, which aims to educate Thai women living in the North about ASEAN community, which is to be realized in 2015.
According to NFE Secretary-General Prasert Boonruang, the new center has been launched in line with the government’s policy to improve skills of Thai women, especially in terms of languages, and to educate them on what’s going on in other ASEAN countries. He said the NFE will provide language courses to Thai women in the North in preparation for the ASEAN community, adding that the Office plans to open 26 such Centers across Thailand before the introduction of ASEAN in 2015.
