Thai authorities rescue smuggled cobras, turtles

NONG KHAI, July 13 — The Royal Thai Navy’s Mekong Riverine Operation Unit in the Northeastern province of Nong Khai on Saturday arrested two smugglers and seized some 300 cobras and 569 turtles en route to Lao.

Capt Marudej Boonnit, naval chief in Nong Khai, held a news briefing on intercepting the animal smuggling ring in Rattanawapi district.
