BANGKOK, 26 July 2013 (NNT)-The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) has disclosed that 28 TV channels will broadcast digitally in Bangkok and its vicinity by the end of this year.
According to Chairman of NBTC’s broadcasting committee Natee Sukonrat, of the 28 digital channels, 4 will be provided publicly while the remainder will be put up for bidding.
The bidding requirements, said Mr. Natee, are now in the final stage of revision and will be announced prior to the bidding process, which will take place from October – November this year.
The digital broadcasting is expected to start in December when viewers in Bangkok and its surrounding provinces will be the first group of people to experience the digital viewing.
