Insurgents used a roadside bomb to attack soldiers from a special combat unit while they travelled on two armoured pick-ups to their unit in Pattani’s Panare district late on Friday night. No one was injured, but one of the pick-ups was damaged.

In related news, soldiers yesterday seized 50 kilograms of kratom leaves in Khok Pho district in the same province and arrested two men.
