16000 police to be deployed at anti-government rally this Saturday

BANGKOK, Nov 21 – Bangkok police will deploy at least 112 companies—16,000 personnel–to maintain law and order during the anti-government rally of the Pitak Siam group Saturday, according to a national police bureau spokesman.

Pol Maj-Gen Piya Uthayo said national police chief Pol Gen Adul Saengsingkaew ordered subordinates in provinces adjacent to the capital to set up checkpoints and thoroughly search for weapons.
