Anti-government rally in Bangkok remains peaceful amid tightened security

BANGKOK, Oct 28 – About 8,700 people gathered in the capital at Sunday’s anti-government rally, which is expected to end today.

The situation remains normal at the rally site of the Pitak Siam group at the Royal Turf Club in the Nang Loeng area as of Sunday afternoon, as checkpoints have been set up to search suspicious persons possibly carrying weapons.
