Security beefed up in Songkhla following reports of possible car bomb attacks

Songkhla police Thursday stepped up security following intelligence reports that three alleged notorious insurgents would launch more car bomb attacks in this southern province.

As part of the security beefing up, Provincial Police Bureau 9 Deputy Commissioner Pol Maj Gen Thanit Sakthirasawat and Songkhla police chief Pol Maj Gen Suwit Choensiri chaired a ceremony to launch patrolling operation by 300 policemen in the downtown of Hat Yai.
