Yellow Shirts petitions Election Commission to dissolve Pheu Thai Party

BANGKOK, June 21 – The so-called yellow shirt People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD) on Tuesday petitioned the Election Commission (EC) to dissolve the Pheu Thai Party, claiming the active role of ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra as grounds for its disbandment.

PAD spokesman Panthep Puapongpan and Samdin Lertbut, secretary-general of the Puea Fa Din Party, submitted the petition to the EC, stating that Mr Thaksin, who was convicted and is now banned from politics, has directed Pheu Thai policies and selected the party’s candidates.
