Bomb wounds police officer, bystanders outside Yala school

YALA, June 16 – A traffic police officer and two bystanders were wounded by a bomb explosion opposite a school in the southern border province of Yala Thursday morning.

As he walked to his motorcycle, the bomb was triggered by radio and Pol Sr Sgt-Maj Yuenyong Dunyaseri, 54, was injured in his wrist and torso. The other victims were not identified.

Fragments of the bomb damaged a nearby car and left a hole 20 centimetres deep in the roadside.
