Flood eases in some southern provinces, two million people affected
BANGKOK, April 4 – The flood emergency has eased in some of Thailand’s southern provinces, while rescue and relief operations continue to help more than two million residents affected by a flood crisis triggered by heavy rain since March 23.
While many southern provinces are still experiencing scattered rain, the flood situation in three provinces – Phang Nga, Narathiwat and Satun – has receded. The floods also eased in Chumphon, except in Langsuan district.
