BANGKOK, March 26 — The Thai government has donated Bt3 million to assist victims in neighbouring Myanmar, which was hit by a strong earthquake measuring at 6.8 on the Richter scale on Thursday, killing at least 75 and injuring more than 100 people, a Thai Foreign affairs Ministry spokesman said Saturday.

The spokesman said Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and Foreign Affairs Minister Kasit Piromya also sent condolence messages to their Myanmar counterparts, expressing their sorrow over the tragic accident.

The Thai ambassador to Myanmar is also assigned to ask the Myanmar government what additional assistance they may need from Thailand, the spokesman said.
