PATTANI, Oct 14 – An employee of the Pattani branch office of the Government Savings Bank was gunned down in this southern province on Thursday.

Pornsak Thongseng was shot in the torso by a gunman on a motorcycle as he drove home from the bank in Khok Pho district. He died en route to hospital.

After the shooting, police erected checkpoints and detained two men, Abdulrorman Sae-ae, 28 and Abnun Hamaeng, 21, both Narathiwat natives. Police said they have been detained at Khok Pho police station for questioning.
