Army Chief Expects No Chaos on Thailand Coup Anniversary

The army chief warns the red-shirt group against exploiting the recent chaos to frame others during its Sunday rally to mark the fourth anniversary of the 2006 military coup. He believes the group’s activities will not spin out of control.

Army chief General Anupong Paochinda stated the red-shirt group will coordinate with the police on security during its gathering on September 19 to mark the fourth anniversary of the 2006 military coup.

Anupong insisted his agency is ready to support police in overseeing the situation and believed there will be no unruly events during the rally.

However, he insisted legal action must be taken against those who violate the law.
