The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near Ta Waen Beach in Na Kluea subdistrict. The paraglider, identified as Mr. M. T. L., 55, from the United States, misjudged his landing while descending from a hilltop and struck a power pole, leaving him suspended more than 10 meters above ground with his parachute lines wrapped around the structure.

Rescue teams from the Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation and local police responded, but faced significant danger due to live high-voltage cables. After coordinating with the Provincial Electricity Authority, authorities cut power to the entire island to facilitate a safe rescue operation.

Approximately one hour later, Mr. L. was brought down. He sustained abrasions on both legs and electric shock burns. He received initial treatment at Ban Koh Larn Hospital before being transferred to a hospital in Pattaya for further care.

No other injuries or damages were reported.
