PATTAYA – A foreign tourist was taken into custody on Pattaya Beach after causing alarm among visitors by openly carrying a knife and a pair of scissors. The incident, which unfolded in a bustling section of the shoreline, prompted a rapid response from local law enforcement following reports of the individual’s erratic behavior.

Police officers arriving at the scene located the visibly agitated man near a beach umbrella rental area. A search of his possessions confirmed the recovery of the reported bladed items. Authorities managed to detain the individual without resistance, and he was subsequently transported to Pattaya Police Station to face legal proceedings. His specific nationality has not been disclosed by officials.

A Pattaya police spokesperson emphasized the force’s commitment to public safety, stating, “Incidents like these are handled swiftly to protect both locals and visitors. We will not tolerate behaviour that disrupts public peace or endangers others.” The city administration also reiterated the availability of its 24-hour multi-lingual hotline, 1337, for reporting any suspicious activity.
