Police from Sena Station were alerted at 9:00 AM on October 5 that two individuals had gone missing near the entrance to Ban Liap community in Ban Pho subdistrict. A 16-year-old survivor, identified only as “A,” recounted that he and four friends had been playing video games before deciding to take photos near the flooded area. While filming, one of the boys slipped and was swept away by the strong current. A second teenager jumped into the water in an attempt to rescue him but was also pulled under. “We all tried to help, but the water was too strong. I nearly drowned myself,” A told police. The three remaining friends managed to reach safety but realized their two companions had disappeared.
