SAMUT PRAKAN — A 33-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 24-year-old girlfriend after she lost 25,000 baht in online gambling, sparking a violent argument that ended in her death. The incident occurred on the evening of September 18 at their townhouse in Soi Mitr Maitri, Bang Yha Phraek.

Authorities recovered electrical cords and charging cables near the body, suggesting the assault involved multiple objects. The suspect admitted to attacking her during a dispute over her gambling losses. Preliminary investigations indicate she had been dead for at least 12 hours before being found.
Family members reported ongoing tensions between the couple, with the victim briefly seeking help during the initial assault but returning to her room before the violence escalated. The suspect has been charged with causing death by assault and remains in custody pending further investigation.
