The operation, conducted in the early hours of Friday (16 August), involved more than 50 officers from Huai Khwang Police Station, the Metropolitan Police’s Women and Children’s Welfare Division, the Immigration Bureau, and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board (ONCB). Authorities stormed the nightclub on Pracha Uthit Soi 11, where they found 328 individuals—122 Thais and 206 foreigners, predominantly Chinese nationals.
Urine tests administered at the scene confirmed six drug-positive cases, including Chinese and Vietnamese tourists. Police also uncovered four packets of “happy water,” a synthetic party drug, along with traces of methamphetamine and ketamine in VIP rooms. No one claimed ownership of the substances, prompting forensic teams to collect DNA samples for further investigation.

Pol Col Prasopchok Iampinit, Huai Khwang police chief, stated the raid followed intelligence reports identifying the venue as an unlicensed operation and a suspected drug hotspot. “The establishment had no permit to function as a nightclub or serve alcohol,” he said, adding that the manager faces prosecution and authorities will seek a five-year closure order under national security provisions.
Those who tested positive were sent to Nopparat Rajathanee Hospital for confirmatory testing before legal proceedings. Police have called on the public to report suspicious gatherings of foreigners as part of ongoing efforts to crack down on illicit nightlife activities in the capital.
