Russian Tourist in Critical Condition After Dramatic Fall in Phuket

Phuket, July 7, 2025 – A 27-year-old Russian national is fighting for his life after plunging naked from the third floor of a company dormitory in Phuket’s Talat Yai subdistrict late Sunday night, in what authorities suspect may have been a mental health crisis.

Russian Fugitive Wanted for International Drug Crimes Arrested in Phuket

Phuket City Police rushed to Luang Pho Road around 9:20 PM after receiving reports of the fall. Officers arrived to find the unconscious man—identified only as Mr. M—lying severely injured on the pavement. Kusoldharm Foundation rescuers and Vachira Phuket Hospital medics provided emergency care before hospitalization.

Witnesses described chaotic scenes before the plunge: Mr. M allegedly scaled to the third floor, smashed a window to enter a female resident’s room, and triggered her terrified escape. He then disrobed and leapt from the balcony. Police found no drugs or suspicious items during a search of his nearby residence, though his passport confirmed legal visa status.

While the motive remains unclear, early witness accounts suggest Mr. M exhibited signs of psychological distress. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage and awaiting medical updates to determine if substance abuse or mental illness played a role.
