Bangkok, July 6, 2025 – The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued urgent weather warnings for multiple regions as a potent combination of meteorological systems threatens to unleash heavy rainfall and potential flooding across the country.
Nationwide Alert: Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued for 49 Provinces Including Bangkok
A low-pressure cell over upper Myanmar and northern Laos is interacting with a moderate southwest monsoon, creating conditions for widespread thunderstorms. The North, Northeast, East, and South regions face the highest risk of intense precipitation, with authorities particularly concerned about flash floods in mountainous areas and near waterways.
The Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand will experience moderate waves, reaching up to 2 meters in storm-affected zones. The TMD has cautioned boat operators to avoid thunderstorm areas, with small vessels advised to remain ashore in the upper Andaman Sea where conditions are most severe.

While Tropical Storm Danas moves toward Taiwan, its peripheral effects will strengthen the southwest monsoon over Thailand, potentially amplifying rainfall. The storm poses no direct threat but may exacerbate existing wet conditions.
The TMD confirmed twelve recent earthquakes in neighboring Myanmar and Indonesia, though none impacted Thailand. Officials continue tracking geological and atmospheric developments, emphasizing reliance on official updates.
