Wang Xing was lured to Thailand under the pretense of a legitimate casting opportunity. Upon arrival, he was abducted by a Chinese scamming gang and transported across the border into Myanmar.
In Myanmar, Wang Xing was coerced into participating in online scam operations targeting Chinese citizens. He reported being held with approximately 50 other Chinese nationals, all subjected to similar conditions.
The Royal Thai Police, led by Police General Thatchai Pitaneelaboot, confirmed Wang Xing’s account after reviewing initial chat logs. They coordinated with local groups to facilitate his rescue and are investigating the involvement of Chinese scam syndicates operating in the region.
