Fire at hotel on Bangkok’s Khao San Road claims 3 lives, leaves 7 injured

BANGKOK (NBT WORLD) – Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt has ordered the temporary closure of The Ember Hotel on Tani road after a fire resulted in three fatalities and seven injuries. The blaze broke out last night (Dec 29) at 9:21 p.m. in a fifth-floor room of the six-story hotel, located near Khaosan road. Firefighters quickly contained the flames, but the room where the fire started was completely destroyed.

Emergency teams deployed three ladder trucks to rescue guests trapped inside the building and on the rooftop. Of the 75 occupants at the time, 3 foreign nationals lost their lives, with one fatality at the scene and two more succumbing to their injuries at the hospital. The injured include two Thai nationals and five foreign nationals. All remaining guests have been relocated to alternative accommodations.
