Armed Chinese man causes panic at 7-Eleven in Bangkok

On October 28th, 2024, Sutthisan police in Bangkok were alerted to a distressing incident at a convenience store near their station, where a Chinese man allegedly entered wielding a knife.

According to the police, unidentified witnesses said that the man, publicly identified only as Mr. Yang, appeared disoriented as he approached a female cashier around 4 PM, brandishing his passport and using a translation app to communicate in Chinese that he feared being kidnapped for ransom.
