A newborn baby was discovered in a cardboard box left alongside a footpath on the Chawang Canal in Surat Thani’s Ban Nasan district on Monday morning.

Adisak Oncumbang, a rescuer with the Kusoltham Sattha Foundation, said the baby, which had not yet been washed since birth, was taken to Ban Nasan Hospital.
