Motorists were advised to use extreme caution as the main Chiang Rai-Mae Sai road was covered with thick fog on Wednesday morning after the temperature on the lowlands in the Northern province dropped to 16 degrees Celsius.

The fog also blanketed the Chiang Rai International Airport but it did not affect the flight schedule.
