ROI ET, 20 November 2016 (NNT) – Roi Et province is preparing to organize the 17th World Jasmine Rice Festival to promote jasmine rice in five provinces in the Thung Kula Ronghai area in the northeastern region. This year’s event will feature business matching for domestic and international businessmen.

Provincial Governor of Roi Et Sarit Withoon said during a news conference of the 17th World Jasmine Rice Festival that the event was scheduled for 26-28 November 2016 at Bueng Phlanchai under the theme “World Jasmine Rice: Rice of the Land, Rice of Thung Kula.” The festival has the main objective to promote rice from the five provinces as well as Khon Kaen and Kalasin. These provinces are where quality jasmine rice with geographical indications is grown.
