A former Thai bar girl named Orathai Prommatat, 24, was sentenced to death by a High Court in Malaysia on October 14, after she was found guilty of trafficking 693.4 grams of cocaine in July 2014, Bernama News reported.

“Malaysia’s Judicial Commissioner Datuk Nordin Hassan handed down the sentence on 24-years old Thai national Orathai Prommatat, after finding that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubts in the prosecution’s case.”, the Malaysian National News Agency announced.

The woman was arrested for drug trafficking in a hotel room in Jalan Hang Lekiu, Kuala Lumpur on July 1, 2014, and charged under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 punishable by the death penalty.
