As the official news of the new James Bond distributor gets running late since February, the blog Johns98 have publish the page called Top 5 Major Film Studio To Win The James Bond Rights. In order, which film studio to win the James Bond rights:
At #5, Universal Pictures; it wasn’t interested in the franchise but it did had a copyright lawsuit in 2014 to create the spin-off against MGM.
At #4, 20th Century Fox; On 5 October 2009, We Are Movie Geeks have reported that MGM was planning to sell the James Bond distribution rights to Fox. But in the next date on 6 October, Film School Rejects citied that the rumours were false.
At #3, Paramount Pictures; It was actually the second studio to withdrawn the bid on 14 April 2011 after MGM’s final distribution agreement with Sony finalised.
At #2, Warner Bros Pictures; It was originally reported on 2 June 2015 that it will helm the James Bond distribution rights but the blog had no interest in them acquired 007 however.
At #1, Walt Disney Pictures; Also known as Disney, it is first mentioned on Deadline.com that the blog could predicted the company may be the one to acquire the distribution rights to the James Bond film series under the Disney brand if understand by EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer to have a distribution deal with The Walt Disney Studios.
So could Disney be the one to buy James Bond due to it’s collaborations with MGM for the theme park, in which is opened in 1989, called Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios). Yes they might, as with Marvel and Lucasfilm.
