NACC Drops Charges Against Abhisit Vejjajiva For 2010 Protest Crackdown

The National Anti-Corruption Commission on Tuesday dismissed malfeasance charges against former prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva, his then-deputy Suthep Thaugsuban and Gen Anupong Paojinda, then-army chief, in connection with the 2010 crackdowns on red-shirt protesters.

An NACC investigative sub-committee, chaired by Vicha Mahakun, decided in February to charge the three for ordering the crackdown after relatives of the 99 people killed lodged complaints with the agency.
