Crackdown on illegal Ivory enforced

A crackdown on illegal ivory trade following a $6,000,000 baht seizure of illegal ivory in Bangkok is being enforced. Today 21 April 2015 is the deadline to declare any all ivory items to authorities.

After today any undeclared ivory may result in a 3,000,000 baht fine, and any ivory known to be African ivory could result in fines up to 6,000,000 baht.

Only domestic ivory is legal to sell in Thailand currently.
