Thailand downgraded by US rights group

Thailand again was placed by a US-based international rights watchdog, Freedom House, among the 51 countries and territories designated as “Not Free” on the condition of political rights and civil liberties.

It is the first time since 2007 that Thailand has been downgraded as “Not Free” when the country was under the administration of a military-appointed government that followed the 2006 coup.
