AIS announces big plans for an upgrade on communication infrastructure

AIS announced an ambitious plan for an upgrade of Thai Baht 40 billion. This is in addition to the Thai baht 80 billion it has invested in its 3g network over the last two years.

With its fixed-line broadband service, AIS aims to reach 10 million homes within five years. Currently, AIS has a fibre-optics network totalling 120,000 kilometres nationwide. There are only 5 million broadband Internet users in Thailand.
