Thai authorities expect to reduce death toll during Songkran to 300

BANGKOK, 11 April 2014 (NNT) – The Interior Ministry is confident that the number of road fatalities during the Songkran Festival this year will not exceed 300.

The ministry said the establishment of a road safety center would help prevent traffic accidents and implement other measures to boost safety. During the “Seven Dangerous Days” of the festival between April 11-17, the ministry is aiming to reduce the death toll to 300.
