Finally cracking down on taxi and baht bus drivers failing to use the new designated stopping zones along beach road, police arrested a taxi driver and demanded that a taxi rank be immediately dismantled yesterday.

The taxis had been waiting for custom directly outside CentralFestival on Beach Road. Some drivers fled the scene when they saw the team led by the Banglamung sheriff on their way, but one – Khun Somyot – was arrested for parking in a prohibited area.
