PM Yingluck Shinawatra inspects drought situation in Sakon Nakhon

SAKON NAKHON, 6 March 2014 (NNT) – Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yingluck Shinawatra visited Sakon Nakhon province to inspect the election situation and chaired a meeting of provincial officials to provide assistance for drought-affected victims in the northeastern region.

At the Rajabhat Sakon Nakhon University, PM Yingluck, together with Deputy PM Plodprasop Suraswadi and her entourage, attended a meeting of government unit chiefs to discuss assistance measures for drought-affected victims in the northeastern region. The Premier was concerned about the worsening drought situation that could occur during the hot season and has strictly ordered the Office of the National Water and Flood Management Policy and the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) to quickly lay down solutions to the drought problem.
