Pro-government protesters seize NACC anti-graft office over rice probe

NONTHABURI, Feb 26 – Pro-government activists sealed off the office of National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) today and charged the independent agency with prejudice in its investigation on negligence of duty charges against the prime minister in relation to the rice pledging scheme.

The demonstrators, mainly from the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD), charged the NACC with having a double standard for implicating caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra in alleged corruption in the state’s rice subsidies since 2012.
