Bangkok police to expel officer found with drugs and gun at rally site

BANGKOK, 8 January 2014 (NNT) – The police officer who was caught with crystal methamphetamine and a loaded gun at the anti-government rally site is set to be expelled from police services.

Deputy spokesman for the Centre for Administration of Peace and Order (Capo) Anucha Romyanan said an in-depth investigation had been launched into the incident and results suggested that Public Relations Division officer Pol Sgt Pat Phet-arwut was not assigned to oversee the rally and was not authorized to enter the site on the day.

The spokesman elaborated that the officer has had a track record of improper conduct and has been repeatedly reprimanded by his superiors.
