Thai-Japanese Friendship Bridge in Bangkok to close for 46 days

BANGKOK, 13 November 2013 (NNT) – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration has announced that the Thai-Japanese Friendship Bridge will be closed for maintenance for 46 days.

The bridge on Rama IV Road will be sealed off from November 16 to December 30. One lane will be opened to traffic during the renovation work.

Earlier the BMA carried out repair work on the surface of the Thai-Belgian Bridge, which runs across the Sathon-Rama 4 Intersection. The closures in May created severe traffic congestion in the area.

The Rama 8 bridge spanning the Chao Phraya River has also been closed for a safety inspection for one night.
