Beach trash collector loses leg to bomb blast in Pattani

PATTANI, April 18 – A home-made bomb in a corrugated cardboard box exploded as a cleaning worker opened it near a beach in this southern border province today, Thai police said.

Police said Mayasin Samae, 42, was separating trash he collected atTaloh Kapo beach and picked up a corrugated cardboard box which exploded instantly, taking away his left leg.
