Thai Buddhists celebrate Makha Bucha ceremony in full force

BANGKOK, Feb 25 – Devout Buddhists throughout Thailand made merit at dawn today and will join traditional candlelight processions at temples this evening to mark Makha Bucha – the full moon day of the third lunar month when 1,250 Sangha followers spontaneously visited the Lord Buddha without a prior schedule.

People nationwide, including Buddhists in muslim-predominent border provinces in the far South, offered alms to monks early in the morning as part of their religious activities.
