Ratchaburi prison hosts weddings for inmates on Valentine’s Day

RATCHABURI, 14 February 2013 (NNT) – The Ratchaburi Central Prison hosted weddings behind bars for 72 incarcerated couples on Valentine’s Day.

The prison offered to assist offenders who are legally competent to tie the knot but have been denied the opportunity once imprisoned.

Officials previously reviewed a total of 234 marriage applications but only 72 couples were eligible to marry behind prison walls. The oldest couples at the weddings were aged up to 75.
